This is the Lion's Mane jellyfish. It is one of the oldest species on Earth, believed to have been around back when good old Theodore Rex was roaming around battling Mexicans.

Sergey Larenkov is a Russian photographer who takes shots captured during World War 2 and superimposes them amid modern day photos of the same era. They serve as quite a striking reminder of how much history the streets of Europe contain. They also display that soldiers aren't really fashion conscious. Alas.
