Vintage Star Wars Travel Posters

Steve Thomas is a person. A person who does arty type things. A person who does arty type things that involve both retro stylization and Star Wars. A hero, in short.

Check out the rest of the neato burrito things of awesome nature here.

Simple, Awesome Star Wars Posters

Andy Helms has done a series of very similar but quite clever Star Wars posters for episodes 4, 5 and 6 of the franchise. I'm jealous-y, because I can't draw a gorramn thing in illustrator. Check out the others over here on Laughing Squid

Well, Of Course: Werewolves Come To True Blood

HBO has released the latest, and probably weakest promo poster for the third season of True Blood starting in the middle of next month. Since the entire world is moving from Vampires on to their hairier counterparts, so is this show. (No, no I realize that these books have been around forever and the show is somewhat trying to maybe kind of follow along in a sense that isn't really real or actually paying attention to the books at all)

So how do we feel about this? Do we care? Is Jason Stackhouse going to be mostly naked as usual?

Star Wars Recruitment Posters

So there's a pretty randomly awesome series of recruitment posters for what I'm assuming is the Empire, although some of them seem to be looking for Victoria's Secret employees. Regardless, I found them amusing in my dorky way. Check them all out here.

LOST Season 2 Posters

So here are my season 2 minimalist adverts for LOST. They ended up a bit more actually illustrative than I wished, look for a return to the abstracted versions for season three. Thoughts? Predictions on next weeks lottery numbers?

Look Under W For Why

The absolutely moronic bastards geniuses over in Movieland have decided that nothing at all would be more appropriate in 2009 than a remake of Fame. We are all doomed. The kind of doomed that Kal El was sent away for. That's right: you heard it here first. Krypton was actually never destroyed, they just didn't want their son growing up in a Fame-remake world. True story.

In Case Of Vampire: Or Another Reason To Move To New Zealand

I haven't even thought about watching HBO's "True Blood" until this morning. Sure, it seemed ok, but now... now I want to be True Blood's friend. I want to take it out for window shopping and lunch. And if something happens....it happens.

Apparently, the show has just started it's season in New Zealand and, of course, they have much better advertising than us crazies here. Hit the picture for a larger version. The design is brilliant.

In order to get you to watch Dollhouse...

I designed some posters!

The show is my new televised obsession. I'm not a huge Eliza Dushku fan ("It's 5 by 5 B" anyone?) but this program has proven to be something akin to crack. Thankfully, I haven't sold any small children to watch it. The show isn't doing super in the ratings game, so I command you all to catch up with them here and then start watching Fridays at 9pm.

So browse these, comment and let me know which you like!
